Agreed. What “nice guys” do is too similar to gaslighting for me.
Gaslighting is one of those beautiful terms that for some reason I periodically forget about, despite the fact that the movie by nearly the same title (the origin of the term?) was so profoundly disturbing that I could hardly stand to watch it…and you’re right, it really is nothing more nor less than gaslighting.
