Gee, do I watch Cat People, about how a woman not performing sexuality according to men’s standards literally cannot be permitted to live

or do I watch Psycho, about how women are both dangerous and all-consuming, and natural victims of men’s violence (which, somehow, is all women’s fault anyway)

or do I watch The Mummy, in which crypto-colonialism and Nice Guy-ism collude to turn a living human female individual into a rag to be squabbled over (although at the end she kind of rises up and asserts herself so)

or do I just write some transformative fanfic about how Irena, Helen, and Lila get together and fight crime?

I’m pretty bad at fanfic, so this is a stumper.
